Types of Ruegg Cable Rollers
Ruegg manufactures several roller styles to cover different cable types, mounting methods, and installation conditions. Here is a breakdown of what is available and when to use each.
Slap-On Rollers
The slap-on design is the original Ruegg roller format. The RO100 Slap On #2 attaches directly to lashing wire in seconds, making it one of the fastest options on the market for standard overlash applications. It is a staple for telecom crews who need a reliable roller that installs without tools and holds its position through the pull.
-
RO100 / Slap On #2 — $11.90
-
Fits standard #2 lashing wire
-
No tools required for installation
-
Available in bulk for high-volume projects
Slide Stop Rollers
Slide stop rollers add a locking mechanism that keeps the roller from shifting during heavy cable pulls. The RO100S and RO200S are the most popular options in this category, offering the same core design as the slap-on rollers with added stability for demanding runs.
-
RO100S / Slide Stop #2 — $13.50
-
RO200S / 2" Slide Stop — $14.00
-
RO100R / Slide Stop #2 w/ Ring — $14.00
-
RO200R / 2" Slide Stop Ring — $14.50
-
Best for long runs and heavier cable diameters
Dual Rollers
The RD-RO100 Dual Ruegg Cable Roller is built for installations where a single roller is not enough. The dual configuration handles larger cable bundles and provides better load distribution across the lashing wire. It is a good fit for congested cable runs or applications with multiple cable types on the same span.

-
Handles larger cable diameters and bundled runs
-
Improved load distribution across lashing wire
Ground Cable Rollers
Ground rollers are designed for cable that runs along the ground rather than overhead. The 4" Ground Cable Roller keeps cable off rough surfaces during installation, reducing drag and protecting the cable jacket. It is commonly used on job sites where cable needs to be pulled across pavement, gravel, or uneven terrain before final placement.

Additional Sizes & Configurations
Ruegg also carries rollers in 2-inch, 3-inch, and 4-inch sizes with ring configurations for specific mounting requirements. The pole roller (RO-PR300) is built for cable runs that require attachment to vertical poles rather than standard lashing wire spans.

RO300 / 3" — $18.25
-

Buying Guide: Choosing the Right Cable Roller
The right roller depends on your cable diameter, mounting method, and the conditions of the installation. Here are the main factors to consider before placing an order.
Cable Diameter
Roller size should match the diameter of the cable being pulled. Smaller cables typically work with the RO100 and RO200 series. Larger or bundled cables are better suited to the RO300, RO400, or dual roller configurations.
Mounting Method
Slap-on rollers are the fastest option for standard lashing wire. If your installation involves vertical poles, the pole roller (RO-PR300) is the right call. Ground rollers handle terrestrial cable pulls where overhead lashing is not involved.
Run Length & Cable Weight
Longer runs and heavier cables put more lateral force on the roller. Slide stop rollers are the better choice for these conditions because they resist shifting under load. The dual roller adds even more stability when multiple cables are being pulled on the same span.
